4. Shame: I Owe You

In this sermon, we will explore the weight of guilt and shame and how they can keep us living as though we still owe a debt that has already been paid. Looking at the finished work of Jesus, we see that while guilt tells us we owe something, the cross declares that our debt has been fully canceled. When left unchecked, shame can distort our identity and keep us stuck in the past. This message challenges us to stop striving to make up for what’s already been forgiven and to begin living in the freedom, forgiveness, and acceptance we have in Christ.
